Introduction
Enhanced 911 (E911) is a service that automatically displays the telephone number and physical address of the originating 911 caller on the emergency operator's screen. E911 also involves Selective Routing, whereby the 911 call is routed to the appropriate PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) based on the caller's physical location (E911 location). As part of the onboarding process, Masiero includes the initial registration form for E911 services.
E911 Location
An E911 location is the dispatchable address where a 911 caller is located. It includes the originating caller's civic address, but may also include details such as the floor, wing, room, or office of the caller to allow arriving responders to quickly locate the source of the emergency.
Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)
A Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) is a dispatch center staffed by emergency operators, which receives 911 calls and dispatches fire, police, or medical services, depending on the nature of the emergency.
E911 Registration Form
Masiero Voice subscribers receive the initial E911 registration form as part of the onboarding process. It is crucial that the form is completed and returned via email or fax (845) 406-4771. A valid address within the United States must be provided which will serve as your service address. The service address will be the E911 Location that is used in the event that emergency services are required. We recommend that you read the E911 Registration Form carefully.
It is important to keep the physical location up-to-date with Masiero to allow for emergency services to dispatch first responders to the appropriate location.
